Nettle Tea Ceremony for Boundaries, Vitality & Personal Power

Nettle Tea Ceremony for Boundaries, Vitality & Personal Power

Plant Ally: Nettle (Urtica dioica)
Traditionally used to strengthen the body, fortify the spirit, and restore healthy boundaries. This ritual supports those who feel drained, overextended, or disconnected from their own needs—helping you return to your core with clarity and resilience.
You Will Need
  • 1 heaped tsp Amor Mederi dried Nettle leaf per cup of freshly boiled water
  • A quiet space
  • Journal or paper & pen
  • A heatproof mug or teapot
  • A grounding stone (hematite, smoky quartz), blanket, candle (not required but they can help set the mood)
Purpose
This tea ceremony is for anyone who’s been giving too much, saying yes too often, or feeling energetically porous. Nettle helps call your energy back, strengthen your root, and reawaken your sense of self. It is a reclaiming—of energy, clarity, and strength.
The Ritual: Drinking Nettle with Intention
Thank Nettle for her gifts and ask permission to know and to be known, that she may walk with you in this journey.

1. Prepare Your Tea (5–10 mins)

Infuse 1 tsp of dried Nettle leaf in freshly boiled water. Cover and steep for at least 10 minutes (or longer for deeper nourishment). As it brews, breathe. Let your nervous system settle.

2. Set the Space

Sit somewhere undisturbed. Light a candle or wrap yourself in something warm. Place your hands over the tea and whisper:

“I call my energy back to me. I am whole. I am strong.”

3. Sip with Intention (10 mins)

As you drink, speak (or think) with each sip:

“With this tea, I nourish my spirit.”

“I reclaim my energy.”

“I honour my boundaries and know when to say no.”

“I am rooted. I am safe in myself.”

Allow the warmth to move through your body. Feel where it lands. Breathe into those places.

4. Journal Prompt (Optional)

Write freely:

Where am I leaking energy?

What boundaries need to be re-affirmed?

What would it feel like to give to myself as much as I give to others?

5. Closing the Ritual
Finish the tea. Sit in stillness for a few moments.
Place your hands on your lower belly and say:
“I am strong. I am vital. I am rooted in myself.”
Snuff the candle and simply thank the plant spirit of Nettle for her medicine with love and gratitude.
Aftercare

Eat something nourishing. Stay hydrated. Repeat this ceremony whenever you feel depleted or unclear. Nettle works gently but powerfully—especially over time.
